Rehaunted System Requirements

Windows 11 only on PC Steam — check RAM, GPU, upscalers, and Deck claims before you buy.

System Requirements

Rehaunted launched on PC Steam on 14 Sep 2026 as a Windows 11 title. The store spec sheet is short, strict, and easy to skim past because the game is a two-to-three-hour investigation, not a 100-hour RPG. Skim it anyway. Sixteen gigabytes of RAM and a GTX 1070 Ti class GPU are the floor, not a flex. This page copies the official min/rec table, flags the Windows 11 requirement, puts the studio 6 GB VRAM note next to that 1070 Ti row, names DLSS / FSR / XeSS, and points handheld players at Steam Deck playability instead of pretending the store Unknown badge is the whole story.

If you are still deciding whether to buy, pair this page with the review and launch notes. Specs will not tell you whether the case is good. They will tell you whether the house will hitch while a radio line is on a timer.

Official Steam specifications

Both columns require a 64-bit processor and operating system. Both columns list Windows 11 64-bit. There is no Windows 10 row.

GPUNVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, 6 GB VRAMNVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, 8 GB VRAM
DirectXVersion 11Version 12
Storage12 GB available space12 GB available space

Copy those rows as Steam wrote them. The recommended Intel chip (i7-6700K) is an older generation than the minimum i5-8400; that is the store text, not a wiki “correction.” If you are shopping used parts, meet RAM, GPU VRAM, and OS first. A beautiful CPU on Windows 10 does not satisfy the listing.

AMD GPUs are not named on the Steam sheet. Do not invent an RX equivalent and call it official. If you are on Radeon hardware, compare VRAM and a rough performance class to the 1070 Ti / 3070 rows, then verify in Steam’s refund window if the game is unplayable. This wiki will not fabricate an AMD SKU Cauchemar did not publish.

Cauchemar has also described a 6 GB VRAM floor in studio messaging. That matches the official minimum row (GTX 1070 Ti, 6 GB VRAM). Treat them as the same gate, not as two competing numbers. A 4 GB card is below both the store table and the studio claim. The recommended row is still an RTX 3070 with 8 GB.

Windows 11 is the actual gate

The important line is the OS line. Rehaunted’s minimum and recommended specs both say Windows 11 64-bit. If you are on Windows 10, this is not a “it might launch anyway” guide. Buy after you can boot Windows 11, or wait. Family Sharing follows Steam’s usual rules; the OS requirement still applies to the machine that runs the executable.

Secure Boot, TPM, and Microsoft’s Windows 11 installer checks are outside the game. They still block people. If your PC cannot install Windows 11, Rehaunted’s store page is not going to make an exception because the campaign is short.

Steam Deck, handhelds, and consoles

Cauchemar has said Rehaunted is fully playable on Steam Deck. The Steam store may still list compatibility as Unknown. Those are different documents: a studio performance claim versus a Valve badge that has not updated yet. The dedicated page is Steam Deck playability.

Studio Deck guidance, as this wiki records it: Medium or High, about 30–40 FPS with FSR or XeSS plus Frame Generation. Do not write “Verified” because a wiki page said playable. Do not write “unplayable” only because the badge still says Unknown. Confirm Options on the device, then play.

PC Windows 11 is still the desktop OS line. Deck playability does not waive Windows 11 for a tower that cannot install it.

Consoles are planned later and are not in the 14 Sep 2026 launch. There is no current Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch SKU to spec. PC Steam is the product; Deck is the handheld conversation the studio addressed.

What the launch build actually stresses

Rehaunted is first-person, cinematic, and dark. The cost is less “open world streaming” and more “high-contrast interiors + sudden entity work + UI overlays.” Launch complaints that collide with performance include:

  • Radio dialogue timers that misfire if a hitch stutters the prompt.
  • Stuck radial menu or flashlight overlay — sometimes input, sometimes a UI layer that never dismisses.
  • Entity spawns and clipping, which can look like a framerate problem when they are gameplay bugs.

If the image stutters, you will mis-time a radio choice or fail to lower a magnifier. That is why a GTX 1070 Ti class card is the floor even though you are not simulating a battlefield. Keep tips and bugs nearby; do not confuse a spawn glitch with a GPU that needs new clocks.

Performance habits that do not invent settings

Cauchemar has not published a slider bible. Do this instead of downloading a random “ultimate config” :

  1. Close overlays you do not need. Discord, RGB suites, and extra Steam overlay layers have a habit of fighting horror UIs. If the flashlight blob sticks, disable extras and retry before you reinstall.
  2. Update the GPU driver from NVIDIA (or your vendor), not from a bundled OEM disc. DirectX 11 is the minimum path; recommended is DirectX 12. If DX12 is unstable on your card, try whatever in-game renderer toggle exists — and if none exists, do not hex-edit one.
  3. Cap FPS only if you are tearing or overheating. An investigation game does not need 300 Hz. A stable 60 is easier on radio timers than a wild frame time graph.
  4. Play fullscreen. Borderless plus a second monitor HDR swap is a classic way to black-crush a crime scene.
  5. Leave 12 GB free, then extra. The store asks for 12 GB. Windows 11 plus pagefile plus shader cache wants headroom. Do not install to a 13 GB partition and act surprised.
  6. 16 GB RAM means 16 GB. 8 GB machines that “run other games” are below spec. This is not the title to test that pride on.
  7. Brightness before sharpening. If you cannot read a stain, raise in-game brightness a notch. Fake sharpening will sparkle UV noise and lie to you.
  8. Use one upscaler path. The launch build conversation names DLSS, FSR, and XeSS (plus frame generation on Deck). Pick the option that matches your GPU vendor in Options. Do not stack three upscalers. Deck owners should follow the FSR-or-XeSS plus FG note on Steam Deck playability. Desktop NVIDIA players can look for DLSS; this wiki will not invent quality-mode numbers Cauchemar did not publish.

Controller vs keyboard does not change the spec sheet. Full controller support is in the build; it will not lower the GPU floor. See controls for pad setup and Getting Started for the first-session checklist.

Languages, achievements, and store extras

The Steam page lists English with full audio and subtitles, plus interface and subtitle support for French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese-Brazil, Russian, and Turkish. Audio languages beyond English are not advertised as full voice. If you need subtitles, turn them on in Options before the first radio call.

There are 22 Steam achievements. They are not a hardware feature. They will not fix a machine below spec. Family Sharing is listed; still Windows 11.

Introductory pricing on Steam is about $7.19 until 28 Sep 2026, then about $7.99. Refunds follow Steam’s normal policy. A machine that cannot boot the OS requirement is a refund case, not a settings case.

After you pass the spec check

If the PC clears the table, spend your attention on the investigation, not on overlay software. Learn the detective toolkit, then go through Getting Started. Watch launch notes and Steam news for patches — launch reviews are Mixed on a small sample, and several of the complaints are technical. A patch can change hitching; it will not change the Windows 11 line unless Cauchemar posts that change in Steam news.

Until an official post says otherwise, treat the Steam table plus the studio 6 GB VRAM note as the hardware floor, and treat Deck as the separate playability claim on Steam Deck playability.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Can I run Rehaunted on Windows 10?

The official min and rec rows both say Windows 11 64-bit. This wiki will not promise a Windows 10 workaround. Upgrade or wait.

Does Rehaunted run on Steam Deck?

Cauchemar says fully playable (Med/High, FSR or XeSS plus frame generation, about 30–40 FPS). The store may still say Unknown. Full notes: Steam Deck playability.

Is there a console version at launch?

No. The 14 Sep 2026 launch is PC Steam. Consoles are planned later, not included now.

How much RAM, disk, and VRAM do I need?

16 GB of RAM and 12 GB of storage, plus Windows 11 headroom. The GPU floor is a GTX 1070 Ti 6 GB class card; the studio has also described a 6 GB VRAM requirement alongside that row.

Where should I look for performance patches?

Cauchemar posts on [Steam news](https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/4538140). This wiki collects those notes on launch notes and tips and bugs.
