Rehaunted Updates Hub
Update 01 is live — launch status, leftover issues, and where Cauchemar posts the next patch.
Rehaunted is out. Cauchemar shipped the first-person detective horror game on PC Steam on 14 Sep 2026, after a 12 Sep studio post that said they were finally ready. The same launch day, the studio posted UPDATE 01 – First Fixes & Improvements. This hub is the wiki’s patch desk: what launched, what Update 01 actually changed, what players are still hitting, and where to look when the next Steam news item lands. It is not a fake changelog. We log named Steam posts; we do not invent a 1.0.1 build ID Cauchemar did not print.
Read Update 01 Patch Notes first if you already own the game. The detailed day-one snapshot still lives on launch notes. Technical workarounds live on tips and bugs. Hardware gates live on system requirements. Come here when you want the timeline; go there when you want a fix or a spec.
Latest official patch: Update 01
Date: 14 Sep 2026 (launch day). Title: UPDATE 01 – First Fixes & Improvements. Source: Steam news.
Cauchemar’s list, in studio language:
- Shader Screen. If the shader screen is stuck at 0%, continue directly to the Main Menu. It appears only on first launch.
- Haunting Spawn Points. Enemy spawn locations were adjusted. Hauntings should no longer spawn enemies inside small or enclosed rooms with no escape space.
- Haunting Collision. After photographing the entity and blinding it, you can run directly through it so you do not get stuck on the monster.
- Haunting Tutorial. The prompt stays on screen longer.
The studio says more fixes are already in progress and asks for feedback on Steam discussions. The full play translation — including what this list does not cover — is on Update 01 Patch Notes. Survival habits after the collision change live on how to survive.
Current state (launch week)
- Platform: PC Steam, Windows 11 only.
- Mode: Single-player, about two to three hours.
- Price: About $7.99, with an introductory $7.19 offer until 28 Sep 2026 (the out-now post: $7.99 with a 10% launch discount).
- Reception: Mixed on a small sample — roughly 40% positive from about 15 English-store reviews at launch. That number can move fast; always re-read the Steam store page.
- Input: Full controller support in the build for Xbox and PlayStation layouts. Steam is still “learning about this game,” so store badges may lag behind the executable.
- Deck: The Steam store badge is still Unknown. The 12 Sep ready post claims the game is fully playable start to finish on Steam Deck at Medium/High around 30–40 FPS (above 30) if FSR or Intel XeSS and Frame Generation are on. Compare both claims on Steam Deck.
- Consoles: Planned later, not in this launch.
- Patch: Update 01 is live. Radio timers and stuck radials were not in that post.
Cauchemar’s release news said the game was launching with nearly 100,000 wishlists. That is a studio-stated milestone, not a review score. Wishlisting after purchase still helps Steam show you patch notes; following the store page is the more useful button now that the game is for sale.
Where official updates actually appear
Use these in this order:
- Steam news for Rehaunted — the primary patch and announcement channel. The 12 Sep “WE ARE FINALLY READY!” note, the 14 Sep “Rehaunted is OUT NOW!” note, and Update 01 already live there.
- Steam discussions — player reproduction of bugs. Useful, unofficial, and noisy. Do not treat a thread title as a patch.
- cauchemarstudio.com — studio site, under construction as of launch week. Check it; do not expect a polished newsroom.
- This wiki — Update 01 Patch Notes is the first named patch page. Launch notes keep the day-one snapshot. We will not silently rewrite history to make unpatched bugs disappear.
There is no official Discord, Twitter, or Trello this wiki will invent. If Cauchemar later publishes a social account, it should be added on the links page with a source, not rumored here.
Known launch issues (player reports, after Update 01)
Treat the list as two columns now.
Named in Update 01 (may be mitigated): shader screen stuck at 0%; hauntings spawning inside small/enclosed rooms with no escape; getting stuck on the monster after you should have been able to pass. Play the official photo-blind then run-through on how to survive. If an enclosed-room spawn still happens, report the room — “should no longer” is the studio verb, not a proof of zero leftovers.
Not named in Update 01 (still watch):
- Radio dialogue timer misfires (prompts expire, stick, or ignore a new finding).
- Radial menu or flashlight overlay that will not dismiss.
- Clipping through geometry that is not the photo-blind pass-through.
Those leftover reports are why controls still tells you to practice the radial in a safe room, and why the detective toolkit still tells you not to start a radio novel in a doorway. A hitch plus a timer is how an investigation loses a line of dialogue. Workarounds: tips and bugs.
If your problem is new, post it on Steam discussions with OS (must be Windows 11), GPU, keyboard vs controller, and the room you were in. Then keep playing or wait — this is a short campaign, and a stuck overlay can eat a whole sitting.
How this wiki will log future patches
Update 01 is the template:
- Date and Steam news title (link the post).
- What the studio says it fixed.
- What players still report after that post.
- Whether tips and bugs still applies.
We will not merge five forum rumors into “Patch 1.0.2.” We will not reset review scores from Mixed to glowing because a hotfix landed. Mixed-on-15 is a launch fact; later scores need later samples.
What an update will not change
Unless Steam news says otherwise:
- The game stays single-player.
- Windows 11 stays the OS line.
- The kit stays UV, camera, magnifier, radio, board — plus the launch-kit phone, laptop, and UV interactions described in the ready post, documented on the detective toolkit page.
- The story still withholds a stamped answer — see endings explained.
- Connor Raines stays the only player character — characters hub.
A patch can make the radio timer fair. It cannot turn Rehaunted into a different genre. There is no announced extra-player mode. Do not hold a first run for a product that does not exist.
Practical launch-week path
- Confirm the PC against system requirements. Deck owners: read Steam Deck so you do not confuse a studio FPS claim with a Verified badge.
- Skim launch notes so the Mixed score and the bug list are not a surprise, then apply Update 01.
- Play with Getting Started and the walkthrough if you want a route.
- When something breaks, check tips and bugs before you refund in anger. Shader 0% and enclosed-room spawns are the Update 01 column; radio and radial are not.
- When Steam news posts the next fix, return here. If this hub is quiet after Update 01, the studio has not posted again — not “the wiki forgot.”
Rehaunted’s campaign is short enough that the important “update” for most people is this first hotfix, not a year of seasons. Watch Steam news like a detective: primary source first, commentary second.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is Rehaunted out now?
Yes. It released on PC Steam on 14 Sep 2026. Details and day-one caveats are on launch notes.
Where do patches get posted?
Officially on [Steam news](https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/4538140). The first named patch is Update 01. This hub and launch notes summarize those posts; they do not replace them.
Has Cauchemar shipped a numbered hotfix yet?
Yes. Update 01 posted on 14 Sep 2026 as UPDATE 01 – First Fixes & Improvements. This wiki still will not invent a 1.0.1 build ID the Steam post did not print.
Should I wait for a patch before playing?
Update 01 is already out. Wait further only if leftover issues on tips and bugs still block you (stuck overlay, unusable radio). The campaign is two to three hours.
